NU ups online tuition 10-20 percent
NU officials today announced resident tuition increases ranging from 10 to 20 percent for online courses. The NU Board of Regents recently repealed a long-standing reglation preventing distance courses from costing more than on-campus offerings. A new on-line bachelor's degree in business soon will be added to the 1,200 online courses and 70 online degree programs offered by NU's four campuses.
Online University Degrees
Just a few years ago acquiring a degree from an online university was looked down upon. Nowadays, even traditional university systems have an online department. Two of the people who just recently got promoted at work received their advanced degrees from an online university. This tells you that work places are now also recognizing online degrees.
One such online university is Gonzaga. Gonzaga University Online is ranked among the top universities in the west by U.S. News and World Report and The Princeton Review and Forbes Magazine have also ranked it as one of the nationís best universities. In addition to those endorsements, Kiplingers Personal Finance also ranks Gonzaga among the best value in private universities.
SMWC to Offer Online Degrees
Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College has received approval to launch an online undergraduate degree program. Starting in January, Woods Online will offer business administration and computer information systems majors. Digital journalism, human resource management and marketing will be launched by August 2010.
College plans for green courses

Glendale Community College officials are gearing up to offer a new training program in green technology education after receiving a $100,000 state grant to develop an online curriculum. Administrators will use the funds to craft online distance-learning courses that will help students prepare for jobs related to renewable energy technology as part of the stateís pilot program to put more people to work in what is expected to be a growing industry
