Midwestern State University students may be tech savvy, but they’ve rejected one technological improvement so adamantly that the university is being forced to regress to the old ways. Three years ago, MSU administrators tried to keep pace with technology by asking students to do evaluations of their teachers and classes online. For years, the end-of-semester comments had been solicited on paper. The all-important evaluations fed into professors’ promotions, tenure and class improvements; more recently, the comments are required by accrediting agencies and for statewide reports.
